Indeed, we have decided to donate Ayovie’s proceeds to the Karuna-Shechen foundation, which was established by Matthieu Ricard. The links above provide detailed information on the initiatives ran by KS. Feel free to also reach out to us directly, should you want further details.
This decision stems from our commitment to selfless service, Seva, and disengagement from the fruits of one’s work, karma yoga. We will have the opportunity to talk about these important themes during the lessons or on specific nights, “Yoga Thursdays”.
Karuna Shechen, co-founded by Matthieu Ricard in 2000, helps create a better future for underserved and disandvantaged communities in Northern India, Nepal, and Eastern Tibet. It provides vulnerable populations access to healthcare, education and training, as well as clean water, solar electricity, and other sustainable solutions that support and improve their livelihoods. Karuna Shechen works with local partners and teams to ensure that the programs it develops respond to the specific needs and aspirations of the comunities it serves. As such, its strategy is based on active community participation, women’s empowerment, and the preservation of local natural resources, expertise, and culture.
